Continuing Care Retirement Communities Can Offer Something Unique!

Understanding the various senior and retirement living options can be overwhelming. Sometimes even coming to terms with knowing we need a little more help as we age can be hard to navigate. For the sake of clarity, let’s start by talking about assisted living and long term care facilities in general. Typically, these facilities offer different levels of care based on the needs of the individuals they serve. Individuals looking for care facilities often find themselves scratching their heads trying to figure out the best fit.

Every person is unique and has a personal set of needs that are specific to their circumstances. That means finding the right fit is not a “one size fits all” solution. That is where we shine! As a life care and skilled nursing community, we offer a range of services including long term care, assisted living, skilled nursing and rehabilitation and supported retirement living. Let’s break these down!

  1. Long Term Care

“Long-term care involves a variety of services designed to meet a person’s health or personal care needs when they can no longer perform everyday activities on their own. This article provides an overview of long-term care planning, services, and costs, as well as other resources.”Ā https://www.nia.nih.gov/Ā

  2. Assisted Living

“Assisted living is for people who need help with daily care, but not as much help as a nursing home provides. Assisted living facilities range in size from as few as 25 residents to 100 or more. Typically, a few levels of care are offered, and residents pay more if they need extra services or special care.”Ā https://www.nia.nih.gov/

  3. Independent Living-

Independent living put simply is any living or housing arrangement that fits the needs of able bodied senior citizens. Often this refers to individuals over 55. Assisted living can look different from one facility to the next. Most often, independent living housing types vary greatly, but all take into account simplifying life and increasing accessibility.Ā

Supported Retirement Living at Presidential Oaks . . .

We take Independent living to a different level. We call it “Supported Retirement Living“. It is a unique offering here at Presidential Oaks. Think of it like independent living with amenities that not only delight our residents, but keep them engaged in the community! We offer exceptional meal service, self-contained apartments of varying size, a fully outfitted game and living lounge and even a beautiful tea room that is a wonderful place to read or have a nice visit with friends and family.

What’s more than our in-house amenities, are the planned excursions and regular outings that are coordinated by our Retired Living Director, Sarah Warner and the activities team. These trips into the community are important for our Retirement Living crew! In fact, we have even started to refer to these outings as “Seniors on the Move”! Whether we are headed to the symphony, having a summer luncheon at a local restaurant or spending an afternoon bowling with friends, this form of social engagement is a wonderful way of staying active and involved!

If you are looking into your options for retirement living, consider coming in for a tour. We are conveniently located in Concord, NH and offer personalized consultations and tours of our beautiful and historic grounds and facilities.
